GATE 2013

GATE 2013 online exam is going to be held on 10th of February. 1.8Lakh candidates applied for Gate 2008. The aspirants have increased to 7.7lakh in 2012. The number will surely be increase this year. It is estimated that this year's Gate will be tough as compared to previous ones. This id due to the increasing demands in the IT Industries as well in PSU(Public Sector Undertaking). 

This years examination fee has been exempted for the girls whereas for boys in General and OBC category its 1200, for SC,ST its 600. In 2011 out of 21 papers only four papers were online and in 2012 only six papers were online whereas this year out of 21 papers 15 papers will be conducted in the online mode. This is beneficial for the students.

In all the papers, there will be a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying total of 15 marks are in General Aptitude (GA). The remaining of 85% of the total marks is devoted to the syllabus of the paper (as indicated in the syllabus section)
GATE 2013 would contain questions of four different types in various papers:
(i) Multiple choice questions carrying 1 or 2 marks each; Each of  the multiple choice objective questions in all papers and sections will contain four answers,  of which one correct answer is to be marked.
(ii) Common data questions (which are also multiple choice questions), where two successive questions use the same set of input data;
 (iii) Linked answer questions (which are also multiple choice questions), where the answer to the first question in the pair is required to answer its successor;
 (iv) Numerical answer questions, where the answer is a number, to be entered by the candidate using the mouse and a virtual keypad that will be provided on the screen.

            TERROR IN INDIA

26th November 2008, terrorists attacked Mumbai who were trained in and came fro Pakistan. There were 11 shooting and bombing attacks across Mumbai. Areas targeted by them in South Mumbai were Chhatrapati Shivaji TerminusOberoi TridentTaj Mahal PalaceCama HospitalNariman HouseMetro Cinemas and a lane behind Times of India building. Ajmal Kasab, the only attacker who was captured confessed while interrogation that all these attacks were conducted by Pakistan's ISI. 

On 29th November, India's National Security Guards (NSG) conducted operation Black Tornado. It ended up with the death of the remaining attackers at the Taj hotel. Ajmal also disclosed that those attackers were membres of Lashkar-e-Taiba, which organise terrorist attacks.    

Pakistan's information minister accepted Ajmal's nationality as a Pakistani. Atrial court on 6th May 2010 sentenced Ajmal to death on 86 charges. He was executed by hanging at Yerwada Jail in Pune on 21 November 2012.

AAKASH TABLET 2

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee launched a new tablet Akash-2 on 11 November 2012, is an improved version of Akash-1. It costs 1130 for students. 1lakh devices have been made for the students of engineering colleges and universities.

Its running at 1Ghz processor having 512 Mb RAM, 7 inch capacitive touch screen and 3 hour battery backup.

It is made under the giudance of IIT Bombay with the active support of C-DAC. Datawind is rolling out this tablet and is selling to the government at Rs 2263 and the government is selling it further with around 50% discount.

It is estimated that aprroximately 22 crore students are going to have this tab in next 5-6 years.

- Scholarship portal integrated with Aadhar.

Happy Bday Chacha Nehru!!

In India, 14 November is celebrated as Children's Day as a tribute to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. He was a patriot who worked for the Indian welfare and independence. He is also referred as Panditji.

He bacame a leader of the left wing of the Congress. He became Congress president under the mentorship of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He was one of the founders of Non-Aligned Movement.
According to a survey conducted in Delhi stated that in 1997, 383 people died and 442 people got injured due to burning of crackers. Lives of 44 people were gone in Sonpath, Haryana in 1999 because of fire caused by crackers.

A market burnt in ashes at Jalgaon in Maharashtra in 1999.
It causes deafening. Ears become numb. Ailments related to lungs can be caused due to excessive air pollution. Respiratory system can get affected.
Pregnant women are mostly affected by noise pollution.
The poisonous gas that is spread due to crackers is hamful it is inhaled and can lead to asthamatic problems. It spreas smoke in the atmophere which creates smog in the environment changing the climatic conditions. badly.

It is nothing but a waste of money creating trash and dust in the environment causing harmful effects to living organisms.

In USA burning of noisy crackers is ban. Only sparkling noiseless crackers are allowed.
We should also step forward and stop buring these harmful crackers.

HAPPY DIWALI

Diwali popularly known as "festival of lights". Its a five day festival which started on dhanteras, celebrated on 13th lunar day of krishna paksh according to the Hindu calendar.
For Hindus, Diwali is counted as one of the most important festival of the year. In this festival peolpe burn crackers, enlighten their house with candles and small clay lamps ( दीया ). The name Diwali or Divali is a Snskrit word ( दीपावली ). On this day people make rangoli decorations also.
