Punjab Government started a massive door-to-door Cancer Detection Campaign

The biggest door-to-door campaign to detect cancer at early stage was launched on 30 September 2012 by the Punjab Government. The Pilot trial of the project will start in Faridkot district of Punjab from October 2012 for a complete month and will be implemented across the state in December 2012. The Cancer detection survey involving fifty thousand personnel aims at detecting the cancer at its initial stage in a population of over 1.25 crore.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Prakash Singh Badal declared during his high level meet of senior officials of World Health organization, departments of health and family welfare and medical education and research and more organizations about the official launch of the project. He also emphasized on the fact that he will not allow scarcity of funds to effect this prestigious campaign.
