R Lakshmipathy, the publisher of Tamil daily Dinamalar, was elected as
the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Press Trust of India (PTI) on
24 September 2012 after the company's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Lakshmipathy, has served as PTI Chairman 2nd time. He is also a member of press council.
K N Shanth Kumar of Deccan Herald was elected as the Vice Chairman of the Board. He is a director of The Printers (Mysore) Private Limited, publishers of “Deccan Herald,“Prajavani,” “Sudha” and “Mayura.” He earlier was the president of the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
Press Trust of India (PTI) is India’s premier and largest news agency. It employs more than 400 journalists and 500 stringers and cover almost every district and small town in India.
